A useful supplement inquiry starts with one question: what do you want to change? You may want your brand on an existing product, or you may want to develop the formula itself. These are different project briefs, even when both are described as “private label.”
At Dio Bio, the confirmed starting quantities are 50 bottles for bottle-label customization and 500 bottles for custom formulation. Ready-stock sourcing starts from 10 bottles. Use these routes to begin the conversation, then confirm the selected product, packaging, destination and order details before proceeding.
Start with the product or start with the formula?
For a bottle-label project, begin by discussing the available product options and your brand presentation. Bring the product direction, planned quantity, destination country and any label artwork you already have. Ask which parts of the packaging can be changed for the selected product. A request for a new bottle label should not be confused with a request to change the ingredients.
For a formulation project, explain the changes you want to explore. These might concern the ingredient direction, dosage form or other product requirements. The first discussion needs to establish feasibility and the information required to evaluate the brief. Do not assume that a reference product can be reproduced exactly or that every proposed ingredient combination is suitable.
Custom formulation also does not automatically establish exclusivity. If formula ownership, confidentiality or exclusive supply matters to your brand, include those questions in the project discussion and confirm any agreed terms separately.
Private label or custom formulation for pet nutrition?
A pet-nutrition project needs its own species-specific brief. Begin with the species, life stage, weight range, destination and preferred format, then identify what you want to change. A human supplement brief is not a pet product specification.
- A selected specification with your label: identify the pet product you want reviewed, its intended species, available specification and the packaging changes you need. Confirm availability and the relevant documents before choosing this route.
- A new or changed formulation: describe the ingredient direction, target species and requested chewable, powder, drop or paste format. Ask which feasibility questions, sample checks and species-specific information must be resolved before a specification can be agreed.
Keep the animal, proposed feeding instructions and destination documents in the same project brief. Pet nutrition information here does not establish a livestock-feed production service or suitability for every species.

Prepare a brief that helps the discussion move forward
You do not need a complete technical specification to make an initial inquiry. A concise brief can identify the decisions that still need to be made:
- Your product direction and preferred format.
- Whether you want bottle-label customization or formula development.
- Your intended users; for pet nutrition, identify the animal species.
- Your destination country and planned quantity.
- Any artwork, ingredient requirements or reference materials you want reviewed.
A reference image can help explain an idea. It does not establish permission to use another company's brand, packaging or claims. Explain the feature you want to discuss rather than asking for an unqualified copy of a retail pack.
Separate artwork, samples, production and shipping
Dio Bio's stated development timings are artwork in 3 days and samples in 7 days. Confirm the arrangements for your selected project when you inquire. These figures describe artwork and sampling; they are not a promise of completed production or international delivery within the same period.
Ask what needs to be confirmed before each stage, which sample will be reviewed and what the next approval step will be. Production and shipping arrangements need their own confirmation.
Discuss documentation for the actual product and destination
Include your destination and any documents requested by your importer or sales channel. Ask which product specifications, COA, testing information and applicable certificates can be supplied for the proposed project. A general badge or a supplier's statement about another product does not establish the documentation available for yours.
Where ready stock fits
Ready stock remains a separate purchasing route for buyers who want to discuss existing supply. If you also have a brand plan, mention it at the start so the conversation can cover bottle-label customization or formulation development. An initial stock purchase is not a requirement for discussing a custom project.
Discuss your project with Dio Bio
Send your product direction, destination and planned quantity, and tell us whether you are considering bottle-label customization from 50 bottles or custom formulation from 500 bottles. If you are still choosing between the two, explain what you want your product to change.
